11-Day Cape Town, Cape Safari & Winelands of South Africa-Luxury

Day 1: Kensington Place, Cape Town

Cape Town: Set at the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans and backed by the iconic Table Mountain, the bustling city of Cape Town presents an alluring combination of drawcards. Incredible powdery white beaches, highly acclaimed wine routes, and astonishingly beautiful mountain trails surround a cosmopolitan hub. This diverse metropolis is filled with superb shops and restaurants, extraordinary heritage monuments, a multitude of entertainment venues, and a spectacular, chic waterfront harbour. Highlights include the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art; Table Mountain's jaw-dropping views; Boulders Beach, where penguins might swim right up to you in the warm Indian ocean waters; the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, where you can walk along a treetop canopy among incredible native flora or watch an open-air concert at the base of the mountain; Robben Island, where visitors can see the cell where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years; and many more.

Day Itinerary

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you'll be privately transferred by your guide to Kensington Palace, a boutique hotel nestled beneath Table Mountain. Enjoy 4 nights in this luxury 5-star hotel, from which to explore the many fabulous sights of Cape Town, including Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsular and Cape Point, the penguins at Boulders, Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, Robben Island, the historic 'Mother City', V&A Waterfront and many museums. Cape Town is a colourful ocean-fronted city (often voted as one of the most beautiful cities in the world), surrounded by mountains and vineyards. The Red-Hop-On-Hop-Off city sightseeing double-decker bus provides an ideal method of transport for taking in all the aforementioned sights. However, should you prefer to be privately guided by a chauffeur-driven vehicle, we can provide this service. For intrepid, paragliding, shark cage diving, motorcycle sidecar tours and deep sea fishing can also be arranged.

Overnight: Kensington Place

Kensington Palace is located in the leafy Cape Town suburb of Higgovale and is situated below Table Mountain. The hotel offers eight spacious suites that feature Wi-Fi access, a television and private outdoor terrace that overlooks the city and its harbour. Sanbona Wildlife Reserve: Situated in the heart of the Karoo in the province of the Western Cape in South Africa, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is said to be the area’s premier wildlife destination offering one of the best safari experiences in the country. Stretching over 54 000 hectares, this tranquil reserve is one of South Africa’s largest private reserves boasting pristine natural beauty with its endless plains and awe-inspiring landscapes inhabited by an array of wildlife including the endangered riverine rabbit. To add to this, it is also home to the only free-roaming and self-sufficient white lions in the world. Visitors can also look forward to excellent birdwatching, viewing ancient rock art, enjoying wonderful game viewing, as well as a comfortable stay at the luxury lodges.

Day Itinerary

The scenic 3-hour private road transfer from Cape Town to the award-winning 5-star Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is breathtaking. Dwyka Tented Lodge is an iconic camp within this 58,000-hectare reserve and provides a backdrop to a magical safari experience. Known for its deeply historical rock art paintings by the ancient hunter-gatherer San people, dating back 10's of thousands of years. Sanbona is also home to four out of the Big Five and even boasts some of the only self-sustaining packs of white lions in the world. Dywka is both opulent and romantic, providing guests with their own tented camp suite, with inside and outside showers as well as your own heated outside plunge pool. Arise early in the morning for your game drives with a professionally trained ranger before returning to camp for breakfast. Relax by the pool and enjoy lunch, before a late afternoon game drive and sundowners in the bush. Trail walking and spa treatments are also offered by Dwyka along with outstanding cuisine.

Overnight: Sanbona Dwyka Tented Lodge

THE CAPE'S PREMIER WILDLIFE DESTINATION.

Sanbona is one of South Africa’s largest privately-owned nature reserves, stretching across 58 000 hectares of rich protected ecosystems within two biodiversity hotspots. This vast track of land in the Little Karoo outside Montagu, a mere 3.5 hours drive from Cape Town along Route 62, is owned by a non-profit company focused on steering conservation to the forefront of the safari experience. Sanbona offers an authentic and contrasting natural space, striving to create a balance where critically important ecosystems, endangered wildlife and flora can prosper for the benefit of future generations.

Embraced by striking rock formations, Dwyka Tented Lodge epitomises an atmosphere of seclusion. Nine luxury tents, with private decks and heated plunge pools are set in a horseshoe bend of a dry Karoo ravine. The lodge stands proud within the beautifully weathered landscape reflecting the nomadic lifestyle of the Khoisan hunter-gatherers who once roamed this land..
